Voice calls are pay-as-you-go from your organization wallet. There is no per-call fee and no minimum - you are charged for the call you actually made. Every call’s charge is itemised. Open Billing → Transactions, select a Voice call usage entry, and the breakdown panel shows each component separately.

What a call is made of

The first four depend on the models you chose for the agent, so a call’s rate changes when you change its speech model, its language model, or its voice. The per-minute rate applied to a call is shown on the call in Conversations.
The Stt rate is per speech model, not per provider. Each model in the Transcriber pill carries its own per-minute rate, shown beside its name and ordered cheapest first. Switching models changes this line on every call afterwards.
A call that failed over is billed at the model it actually ran on. If the speech, voice, or language model fell back to its backup mid-call, the charge follows the provider that served the call rather than the one configured on the agent.

The telephony charge

Telephony is the cost of the actual phone connection. Who you get the number from decides whether Vocily charges you for it: A rented number also carries its $5.00 monthly rental, which is separate from per-minute usage and is charged whether or not you make calls. The Test Number has no monthly charge.

Telephony is billed in 30-second pulses

The phone network bills in fixed 30-second blocks, not per second, and Vocily bills it the same way. Any part of a block counts as a full block: Only the telephony line works this way. Stt, Llm, Tts and Platform are billed for the time actually used.

Transfers to a human are charged twice

When your agent transfers a call to a human, the phone network is running two calls at the same time:
  • the parent call - you to the customer, still connected and still being billed
  • the child call - you to the person you transferred to
The carrier bills both legs as separate calls. Vocily therefore charges the telephony line at 2× the call’s blocks when a transfer connects.
Only the telephony line doubles. Stt, Llm, Tts and Platform are charged once - the AI ran once.
If the transfer fails - nobody answers, the line is busy, or no one is available - the telephony line is charged once, at the normal rate. No second call was ever connected, so there is nothing extra to pass on.

A transferred call is billed for its whole length

On a normal call you are billed for the connected conversation. On a call that transfers to a human, you are billed for the whole call as the phone network measured it - from the moment the customer answered until the moment the call finally hung up, including the time the customer spent speaking with your colleague after the agent stepped away. The line stays open and the carrier keeps charging for it the entire time, so the call is priced on its full length rather than on the shorter stretch the agent was on.

Worked example

A 2-minute-39-second call that transferred successfully, on a rented number: Had the transfer failed, the telephony line would have been 6 blocks - $0.0120.

Where to check what you were charged

Amounts are displayed rounded to two decimal places. The wallet is debited at full precision, so a long list of small calls adds up exactly rather than drifting.
Prices on this page are in US dollars, which is the currency of the wallet. Paying in another currency converts at top-up, not per call, so a call costs the same regardless of when it was made.
